ritt, “Sweet Lamb,” has been singing since the tender age of five years old. Encouraged by family, friends, and the Church, Lauren has always kept a song in her heart and has never been shy about sharing her singing gift with the world.
“I grew up in a Baptist church,” shares Lauren, “that, thinking back, really was on the cutting edge of ministering the gospel through the genre of contemporary gospel music. My mentors growing up were people like Min. Freda Battle, well known artist and founder of the gospel group “Temple Worshippers,” and the late Bro. Allen White, renown New England tenor soloist. Lauren reflects, “Freda and Allen were my childhood choir directors and musical role models. They taught me that you always put your best before the Lord when ministering the gospel in song. We would rehearse sometimes for hours and hours, but it always paid off!”
These days “Sweet Lamb” is enjoying ministering the gospel through songs from her debut album, “In Spite of the Rain.” Her freshman album was released during the spring of 2006, and it’s a soul stirring, foot stompin’ collection of heart-felt original songs written by the “Sweet Lamb” gospel artist herself. “I had such a blessed time working on my debut album. I know folks say this all the time, but it was a dream come true and I give God all the glory! When I think about how God allows me to hear lyrics from heaven, I just marvel at His mighty works!” “Sweet Lamb” continues, “It’s an honor and a privilege to sing praises to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. These songs express victory in Christ Jesus in spite of the curve balls that life throws your way. I pray that the words and music to these songs are a blessing to everyone who takes the time to listen.”

New Album Release - "Faith Walking"

As always, I’m grateful and so thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
I give God all the glory for what He allows me to do in His name. “Faith Walking” has come to fruition by the grace of God, my Father. “It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.” (Mark 12:11)
I’m grateful for the seeds of faith that have been planted in my spirit over the years along my Christian journey. I’m especially grateful for a preached Word that I received over seven years ago during a Women’s Retreat sponsored by Concord Baptist Church in Boston, MA. The Word was preached by an anointed woman of God by the name of Rev. Marcia Salter, and her sermon topic was entitled, “Faith Walking.” Through the powerful move of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Salter dynamically illustrated how we as Christian believers must put God’s Word into action in all that we do on a daily basis. She shared that we can only ignite God’s Word by exercising the measure of faith that He has given us, and when we do so, our FAITH is Walking! Hallelujah, Jesus!!!
So again, I’m grateful to the Father for His faithfulness unto me. I thank God for all those who love, support and keep me in their prayers. I know the real deal; love and prayer cover a multitude of sin, and I’m ever so humbled by that simple fact.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t shout out a few names, though it may get me in trouble. (smiles) Bro. Norman Britt, III (Deacon), you’re a son among sons. You’re my blessing, indeed. Thank you for working so obediently with me throughout this project. Dad & Judy, I’ve got nothing by love for you both; Bishop Jack & First Lady, you’re gems of the kingdom; Prophetess Scott, thanks for all your encouragement from the start; Bro. Ian Smith, you’re a master of your craft. The photos are right on! Bro. Dave you worked those photos on the album layout, and together, you and Ian captured “Faith Walking!” Bro. Felix Mwangi, words can hardly express how much I admire you and your musical gifts; you’re the MAN! To all believers, keep working hard in God’s kingdom and let’s continue to please Him by our “Faith Walking!” Amen!
